Set NHRA Super stock  records back in the '70s.  No more broken rocker shafts at high RPM.....

I had some of those laying around here about ten years ago. Have you had that set long?

It's amusing that guys with stud mounted rockers are spending bags of cash to convert to shaft mounts.  While we shaft mounters are looking for a stud mount solutions.  Imagine two guys standing at the speed shop counter each looking for a solution in a box.

I'd much rather have a shaft mount.   All of your high end rocker systems have a common mounting base with paired rockers on little shafts.   Bulletproof.

I guess no one looked at rocker arm geometry back then.
How high the rocker arm pivot is - no way to get remotely near to mid-lift geometry.(not even close)

The reason factory FE shaft failures occurred is due to lack of shaft support. Not because it was a shaft design.

Neat to see what was thought to be fantastic way back then. Just like 1/2" rod bolts. :)

Cheers

How does the Y block rocker arm design compare to the FE in strength with two bolts per pedestal and no bolt holes in the shaft?

I looked at getting the Haskell setup back in the early 80's but i'd need pushrod oiling which my 427 block wouldn't provide. At that time John Haskell was racing a yellow and white shortened 57 Ford wagon with a High Riser!

It's not mine just a pic from my files.
