Drag Week 2016 - Random Viewer Updates
« on: September 12, 2016, 11:34:20 AM »
Just saw Scott Miller in the red Cougar run 9:18 @ 131. Big wheelie!

Can't timestamp due to the livefeed.

Quote as Jay's SHELBY came to the line Drag Week Day1

".....If you don't enjoy Jay Brown's 1969 Mustang your opinion is wrong.  585 inches of FE Power because frankly, that is the only thing Jay puts in everything he drives.
   8.94 at a buck-fifty!
    Naturally Aspirated!"

Scott hit the chip at 1000 feet....coasted to a 9.18, hence the 131 mph.  Missed on gear selection just a little.  They are gonna bump the chip 400 rpm.  Probably get in the 8s but still won't quite make the finish line.......until the last day, lol.  Jack said he went 1.25 in  60' leaving off idle, no trans brake, still 300 lbs over the min at 3300.

Nice run for Mr. Jay.  Hope all the FEers have a good trip!+

The Classic worded as announced:-

" Doug Smith  from Agera, Ohio
1961 Mustang Mach 1 with a 427
Is that an FE or like a Windsor stroker under the hood?
   Don't Know  .
Got a stick-shift I can tell you that much
and Doug Smith goes 13.25 @ 112"

That time seems WAY off. I think Doug planned to run significantly faster. Hope he didn't break.

If he could get the car to hook and have a good run, at that MPH he should be able to run in the 11's.

That is some great potential for the Millers.  Be interesting to see what it will do.

How many cars left to run? Two crashes in quick succession 15 minutes from the cutoff must change the cutoff.

Although mechanically that might be a good sign, he wanted to go quicker  :(
