Here's my 496 FE on the dyno. I've been messing with it and building it for about 5 years, finally finished it up and got it on the dyno this week. It's not nearly as impressive as Barry R's bad boy, but it's pretty respectable for a solid cam, 9.5 - 1 compression ratio street machine. Here's the youtube of it running. I had to stand there in the test cell during the pull to get the video and I'll tell you what; that is one wild screaming machine!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DH6zVS-9v4A&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL The cam is a Crane F-266, it has 266 duration at .050 and .621 lift the pistons are Diamond with a 22cc dish, the heads are aluminum Dove SK's and they flow 340 in and 240 exhaust. The block is a Genesis iron block with a 4.31 bore, it's got a Scat 4.25 crank and Scat H Beam rods. The intake is a Dove Tunnel Wedge with 710 cfm BC-DC carbs. The dizzy is a Pertronix II Billet and I'm running a MSD 6AL box.
Peak HP was 644.1 @ 6300 RPM, Peak torque was 629.7 @ 4800 RPM. It's going in my 64 Galaxie with a 3.89 rear end and wide ratio toploader, no power anything, but it will have A/C LOL!!!
Lots of credit and thanks to Ross; he put up with my endless questions and helped me get everything just right, I would never have got it done without his help.
As an aside; the dyno operator Earl, is a big time chevy guy, he races two car on a regular basis and he had just built and tested a 496 ci BBC .... and it made 633 hp at 6500 RPM. Needles to say, he was stunned and impressed with my old dinosaur!
