if i keep the v6 i may find a s10 already set up for this engine, mounts and all are on the little v6,looks like a 750 or 850 double pumper on it and a msd dist,my neighbor built stout engines,i remember hearing the race car start up when i was a boy,you could hear it for miles away. harry gant drove one of his cars one time at bristol and harry told my neighbor that his car ran as good as anyone there but harry said it needed to be set up,it was hard to handle. my neighbors were the applegates, butch,Alan, and there dad bill.they raced mostly short tracks like kingsport, but every year they would go to bristol to try and qualify, they didnt run up front much, but they were just average guys racing on the weekend.

i have a .245 at .050 hyd cam in my 428 with a 4 speed on the street,it has good manners except when idling along in first,it can start loping and you have to push in the clutch, rev it up a little and take off again,if thats similar to what brent is explaining.

i forgot to mention she let me have everything for 400 dollars and there is enough spare parts to build another one- extra crank new in bag, spare block in a bag and a big crate with a set of pistons heads and every thing else needed to build a second engine, plus main engine is new on a stand ready to drop in a car, too good to pass up even if i dont need it.

Sounds like a Stage II Buick V6.  Snatch it up, find a mid 80's Camaro, drop it in and embarrass the heck out of all the 350 fanboys.  Stage II's have been known to make ridiculous (1500+ HP) power with the right turbo and 2+ HP/ci in NA form is also quite doable.

it looks like the one in the pic,it even has the flat top intake and external oil pump

Like the big dummy i am,i bought a set of bbm heads and i thought i would use the stock rocker bolts.they were too long and they busted into the runners and made my engine suck oil through these holes and smoke. funny thing is when i tightened the rocker bolts down i did not feel them bust through at the bottom. the resistance of the valve springs, the tension of them tightening down made it hard to tell i busted through.the hole it made was the same diameter as the bolt and when i took it apart i found the little pieces it punched out and they were no thicker than a dime-thin area. that is why i did not know the bolts busted through. i need to take them back off and get them repaired, but for now i used silicone on the bolts to stop the leak. that might be why trick flow heads use thicker rocker pads so this wont happen to dummies like ME.
