i just put a full spool in my 9 inch rear.it binds and pops a little when you turn sharp.is this normal or do i need some better universals or something?

i pulled my ngk plugs out,been getting some popping out the exhaust.i have my timing set on my msd dist. at 33 degree,[bbm heads},as suggested by forum members.i noticed my timing mark is near the tip of the plug,only 1/8- 3/16 from the tip.timing charts shows 2-4 degree too little. what should i do,leave it at 33 or bump it up a couple degree as the pointer could be showing wrong,but its been ok in the past,till i changed ignitions.

my engine was running fine-428 yesterday. i put 5 gallons of 110 race gas in it,cranked it,it was fine. got back in it later and it started flooding and the float bowl wont adjust,it just keeps on flooding and it pours out the sight plug no matter if you lower the bowl. could this race gas be bad or just happened because of something else.car did set for 6 or 8 months for other repairs.

is there anything i can do to help. when i shift from first to second it dont want to go in second if your over 3 or 4 grand.second to third and third to forth shifts fine at 5500 to 6000. cant change to different trans,hoping theres something simple causing this.

FE Technical Forum / CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD

I have got 2 cracked manifolds on my 73 f250, 360 ,4 speed.my friend at the muffler shop said he would fix them,i have a good set to put on,BUT he said i had to put new motor mounts on or they would break again.i was wondering if that is the case.the motor mounts are old and cracked,but not broke,is motor mounts usually he problem,or are the exhaust manifolds just bad to crack?

my 428 has a stock oil pan with a windage tray from mid 1980s.im getting ready to pull the pan and replace it.question is,should i leave the tray off or use it on the new pan?probably using a stock new pan

i have a friend who has been a bracket racer sense 1980.he is one of those guys who can take his trans out between rounds and go through it and put it back in and run the same time next round.true bracket racing professional.he has a ford truck he uses to haul his car to the track,390 powered.he blew a heads gasket on his truck at a race earlier this summer.i walked over and looked and he had taken one head off without taking the intake off and replaced the head gasket and put it back on and its fine.i did not know this was possible but not idea for sure.anyone ever try anything like this?

i bought some new plugs for my 428,i was going to keep the old ones in order but there was no need to.all 8 were black covered in soot,no oil,just black soot.i have a new 850dp with straight 80 jets all 4 corners.i think it had 76s in the front new but i put 80s all the way around because thats what my old 850 came with and it ran great that way.what should i do to correct this problem with the black plugs?

since i changed from a msd box to a gm module i noticed my engine,when i turn the key off dont really keep running but i makes one little noise after you turn it off.it sounds like it wants to keep running but it dont do it but for a second or less.would this be a sign of too much timing or too little.its not bad but its noticeable.

i changed from a msd box to a gm type module and now my timing is 3 degree higher 33 to 36 total.i have a msd distributor with the black bushing in it.question is ,do i change to the blue bushing or whatever color 3 degree is or do i just retard the timing 3 degree.i noticed the extra timing is making it hard to hot start.

im lucky enough that the fairlanes of america club is having a meet this weekend 1/2 mile from my house at the meadowview convention center.i took my 66 comet and joined the club.they come to town every 5 years or so
