Two more things I thought about to throw in the deal. I have two sets of floor stands for FE. I will throw in one set so it sits in your truck well for the ride home.
Also I have a set of roller lifters I’ll throw in the deal so that the only thing you need to finish the engine is a set of push rods that you’ll have to spec when you put it together.
So that’s almost a complete engine for an old timey price.

Columbia south of Nashville.
As I look at the pics this morning I’m struck by the head bolts in the valley. Reason is I had to pull the heads in order to be able to move the engine around in the move out of SCE recently. The E’bok water pump is just hanging there also.

Private Classifieds / Making some room SOLD
« on: February 26, 2025, 02:31:02 PM »
 Hi guys
Going to sell some stuff. Just don't have the room to do justice to this stuff.
We used to build over at SCE. Had a nice little set up. But as you all know, life gets in the way. My brother ended up making a deal with the Italians (because he couldn’t stand them anymore) and he’s out of that business and on to another.
So I’m in my garage with no shop and little room. No sweat, I’m getting older and would rather concentrate on fewer projects.
Do you all remember the 428 I found and gave to the guy that we found out was the original owner? He swapped me a Lima 428 block and heads. I have had the heads worked on extensively (by Brent and Valley Head service in LA) getting them modernized and repaired. The block is a C scratch beauty. I had it machined in SoCal before we moved here to TN. I was thinking of installing it in my Q code Country Squire (which I’ll probably sell also). But other projects and life got in the way. Anyway long story short I’m selling the block and heads AND some original stuff taken off the old engine (Cobrajet guys). I’ll include pics below. Everything in the pics is INCLUDED in the price of the block and heads (yes even the engine stand, headbolts, head gaskets and dipsticks). I just want it to go to a nice place. I will include also my build manual so that you can make informed decisions on how you want to proceed with it. BTW head and block surfaces machined for MLS (included).
OBTW I do not have an engine hoist here so you should bring one. I don’t know if the flywheel and balancer are Cobra Jet correct so included a pic of each number so you can verify. No added weight so…
$4750 (SOLD)
And just in case anyone is as wacky as me and wants to put a Cobra Jet into a Country Squire with a 390 in it. 5K for the car.
I don’t have an original intake but I do have the Streetmaster that came on it I will include. And 9:5 to 1 pistons are installed. SCAT crank and rods. And I have another timing cover to throw in.

It looks like the ‘67-‘68 molding is damn near the ‘66 version so I don’t see a problem making this fit. It will just require some redrilling of holes and trimming here and there. Really amazing how well it fits but then we all know Ford tried to re use as many parts as possible so it makes sense.
Anyway for anyone stuck in this same predicament it looks at first fit like the later version will fit the earlier.

Not sure on the 65/66 cars but on my 68 Fastback each side has 2 pcs.First pc riveted in and then the channel. On my 67 Coupe it is only one pc..I think you are in for a long hunt....
Agreed
It’s three total pieces the one piece that is available rivets or flat screws in. The channel goes on top of it to the inside and the gutter trim piece connects with the first piece to give you a full width of stainless.
As the guy said, “needle in a haystack”
I will probably buy a 67-68 and see if it can be modified to work.

Thanks Mike, no dice on the first guy. He thought that Dynacorn made them, they do not.
In my research I’ve read that a 67 channel can be made to fit the 66. This may be the way to go if it can be done. I may buy one to try it.
On the used pieces, since nobody makes them the used parts when found are stupid prices. I remember before I moved I was trying to find a pair and did locate one at Mustangs etc. in Van Nuys. They wanted 800 bucks for a nasty pair and as I was moving I said no thanks.
Mustangs and Fast Fords is trying to locate but their words were “needle in a haystack”.
