A few guys have asked so I’ll just make a post.
I’m fine, my health is great. I am just at the point where I can only handle so many projects at once. Even though retired I’m busy all day every day. I still have my 428 mustang and 428 Country Squire. And the Squire is part of the reason I’m doing this. You guys remember when I found the 428 that was the exact engine for a Shelby? I swapped him engines so that he could have the exact engine for his car and he gave me in return a ‘69 CJ. The top of the motor you see in those pics is on the CJ short block. I had all this fun stuff and was figuring why not make a really fun engine so I was putting a really nice top end on the CJ block. Meanwhile my N heads were swearing at me. Well I’ve succumbed to the guilt. The CJ stuff should be together. So I’m taking all those sweet pieces off and selling them then putting the CJ engine in my 428 Squire instead of it having a 390 in it. So now the wagon which I love will have an actual 428 in it.
That of course leaves me with a perfectly good running 390 but that will be another story.
Anyway this has been a long winded way of saying thank you for the concern.

I was perusing the posts and I saw that Brent is selling TFS heads for $2450. My stated goal was to sell my junk for less than you can get it, so I chopped the price to $2000. Pending 11/28

The C3’s next to my CJ N heads. They are small chambered. Brent told me the chamber volume is low around 60cc.
Small chambers

Right number

Right date

Right chamber

Machined seats

Here’s the badge off the Fairlane headers.

Hi guys
I have recently made the decision that I am not going to get to a few things in life. To many hobbies and not enough time. So I am offering these parts I have been saving up for quite a few years. I am trying to price these things at prices you can’t get nowadays. For instance the block I bought from BBM for IIRC $3850 years ago. Don’t want to make a dime off it so $3850. I know they are over 4k today. All I want to do is clear things out. Not looking to make a fortune. I’m also going to get rid of my old 1961 unibody pickup with a 292. It has been used so its a 20 footer but a great truck. I have the 5 speed kit built by Mummert with tranny that I’ll throw in as well as a front disc brake kit that I never got around to installing.
This site though awesome is extremely slow for me (not anymore) so you can text me at eightoneeight fiveonenine twooneoneseven.
Or email me at marchunteratsbcglobaldotnet.
If you can’t figure those out, pm me and I’ll make it clearer. And I’ll be happy to give you pictures or explain the parts. OBTW you have to pay for the ride or if you’re around Tennessee somewhere we can figure it out.
Ok here’s the list.
1 BBM block from the second or third run, I can’t quite remember $3850. SOLD
Scat forged 4.375 crank NIB never opened pn#7-4274375-PCG-33 $1800. SOLD
Scat H beam 6.7 rods NIB $600 Pending 11/28 SOLD
Weiand 351 tunnel ram unused. Has been whittled on a bit to fit on Jays adapter. $500 SOLD
TFS heads assembled by Brent so with springs and valves. Unused, they are bolted on an engine I was going to build but rethinking what I want out of it. $2000 Pending 11/28 SOLD
Jim Dove intake manifold with Jim’s name on the front runner plus a super sucker spacer $800 Sold
NIB set of Morel solid roller lifters $400 SOLD
FE Power water pump adapters $200
FE Power timing chain cover $250 SOLD
Electric water pump $200 SOLD
406 steel heads bare. After much research and having Brent look at them and a few other guys that should know as well as buying them originally from Valley head service in LA who sold them to me as 406 heads. Of course will show you pics. $500
2 660 center squirters bought from John V. IIRC they were on his boat. $800 SOLD
1 set of Hooker Super competition Fairlane headers. 2 inch tubes. $550 SOLD
1 set of 1963 T bird headers again if interested I’ll fill you in. $400
I’m also going to sell my ‘67 Fairlane (that this motor was going in) pretty inexpensively, text me for info I’ll call you back. Pending 11/28 SOLD.
As mentioned above I’m going to sell my trusty y block truck. Text me.
I will also be selling my enclosed car trailer in the future. Lots of stuff in it now. Let me know if interested.

Aww crap. Sorry Tommy, my bad. I will tell you right now that we will both prolly go again next year as we are going to pick up my other brothers ‘69 Mustang. He will never get it finished so we told him if he can get it to roller condition we will pick it up, bring it back to Tennessee and build it for him. Should be easy for him as it’s just a shell with suspension right now.
I will try like hell to remember/tell you next year.

No disappointment MR. Craine.
It’ll still have a purpose no matter what it turns out to be.

Hi guys
Just got back from a combo trip. Went to Hot August Nights in Reno and worked my brothers booth. Lots of nice cars but not that many FE’s. But I talked to a “lot” of guys that were working on FE’s and needed to yak about gaskets.
Then we went to our old ranch where we have squirreled away some flathead parts that our dad had collected and a couple engines I had purchased.
One is a sbf crate engine I bought. No big deal. Gonna build it up for a yet to be discovered car.
But the other is an absolutely beautiful 292 that I bought from a gent that told me it was out of an F650. The truck was sitting in his yard so I didn’t question. The engine will be a pattern for Ryan’s company to check/make gaskets off of then get built up with newer (Mummert type) parts for more gasket checking/building. No telling where (what car) it will end up.
The flattie stuff will get checked and used/built. There’s an 8BA and an older smaller inch block. Forget if it’s 20 or 24 bolts. We were to busy to catalog numbers at the time. But I’m going to teach myself about them. Long ago Ryan had arranged for a set of Tony Baron heads, all polished up and beautiful. They are in the load though I didn’t take a picture of them. I will, they’re beautiful. Lots of extra parts we’ll check out. Looks like mostly just surface rust on everything.
Also grabbed a Ford 37 frame and a bunch of parts for a future car dad never got to. Gonna build it for/with Ryan. Kind of a dad remembrance car.
So we ended up with a trailer full of good memories/projects to take home.

It is an interesting little area of the block. So low tech it makes you pause then go look at an oiling diagram and think well, ok.

Beautiful car, congrats.
Yes 427, but we’re all a bit bias here.
