Non-FE Discussion Forum / Engine diapers
« on: June 12, 2017, 11:35:42 AM »
Participated in my first event where engine diaper was required, i have no oil cooler but do have 7 qt. pan, I expected some operating temp effects but was a little surprised at the effect. The biggest difference I noted was the cool down time after the pass was much longer, I was lucky in that i was running in 1/8 mile and did not have to get in a 'round robin' situation or I would have been in big trouble. If the meltdown event goes to mandatory diapers (there has been talk about it) I am going to need an oil cooler! any recommendations appreciated....

running a 2" belt to lessen that happening
Steve, long term plan is to install blower motor in the gasser, but putting it in the bronco to get all the bugs worked out

I am about ready to start my first supercharger installation and am looking for an experienced opinion on the amount of belt deflection recommended. 19 " between pulley centers on the non-idler/adjuster side. 2" gilmer belt with .5 pitch...

Steve,
Most nostagia gasser organizations specify "suspension of the sixties a must" . Car build is based on concept of actual 1960's gasser look and chassis technology at the time.
