Lincoln Y Block dyno result
« on: April 13, 2021, 02:52:02 PM »
Dan sent me a dyno sheet yesterday for an engine that I helped him make parts selections.  It is a stroked 368 at 392 inches. ported stock 57 heads, 10:1 compression 224 degree hydraulic roller. Custom intake spacers from FEPOWER LLC. A scrub Performer RPM intake and an AED Holley 750.  It's going in a 53 Lincoln Cosmo with a 6 speed automatic and 4:11 gears.. Should be fun.. Damn it makes torque.

All that torque at comparatively low rpm, might not need that deep of gear.
My little Y block max torque rpm is at higher rpm.
Great job !

I've always admired the 368!

In about 1964, in the LB/Signal Hill area of CA, there was a very fast one, in a '56 Ford.

We know the adapter helped a lot but, do you have info on the heads and flow or did those long rods, make all that torque?

It's gonna need that torque in that car!  ;D

That's a pretty impressive torque curve for a Y-block. With that automatic, it should be able to keep up with modern traffic just fine, with a little concession to fuel mileage..lol

I think the torque was made by really good heads  A long intake runner and a spot on cam ..

A max ported Lincoln head will do about 260 on the intake and 200 on the exhaust. Joe's ported Lincoln heads can do just a bit better than that.  My 383 inch Lincoln made 500 torque with 12:1 a tunnel ram and a big solid roller, so this pump gas motor is quite impressive.

Oh and we must not minimize the Jay Brown factor since he produced the intake adapters.. His stamp is worth 20 ft lb
