Appreciate the input, guys.
So what would a standard bore (you can still see some hone marks, evidently) shortblock and nice set of 4V closed chamber heads be valued at? Somewhere where it would be a fair deal for the buyer and seller?
He wants $1000.00 for the above quoted parts. Do you guys feel that's fair?

What something is worth is in the eye of the beholder.  Cleveland stuff tends to go all over the map pricewise, not as bad as some FE stuff, but it does.  A block and set of 4V heads say depends on what it all needs.

Block standard bore will it stay standard? I would not buy any factory cleveland block without a sonic check and mag.  Some of those blocks won't go .030" safely. You also have to be careful of stuff that sat a long time as you don't know the history. Want mag the block real good make sure no cracks including the outer water jackets.  If it passes all that can see $500-$600.

4V close chamber heads would not pay more than $400 for good cores and if they are cores and will need everything (Guides, valves, convert to screw in studs, comp valve job, etc...) by time done better off getting a set of new aluminum heads.  I would not re-use the factory valves.

I have a ported Street Dominator for the 351M/400 that I used on my 408 cubic inch.  I ported the 2V heads, Street Dominator, headers, 3310 Holley, and it really woke the 351M up.  Joe-JDC

I'm not a Cleveland expert, but if that short block is truly standard bore with no damage, and the heads look good, I would jump on it.

I was at the local machine shop about 15 years ago (it's gone) and saw some factory 351C 4V heads flowed.  They were ported.  No epoxy.  Nothing radical.  Just a good port job.  I remember they flowed 352 cfm on the intake.  I don't remember the exact lift, but I think it was at less than .700".  Phenomenal!
