Felpro intake gaskets
« on: December 01, 2020, 05:51:19 PM »
I was checking on felpros site and there info says that the 1247 & the 1246 gaskets are print o seals. I seem to remember that they were teflon coated but no silicon bead. Am I wrong? I have some that are definitly non silicon beaded and was going to get some more but don`t want the bead. When did they change? Also has anyone got an opinion on Mr Gasket 206g & 202a ? thanks GJCAT

The Mr. Gasket gaskets are about all I use.

Don't use the 1246 or 1247.  You'll want to use the 1246-S3 for tall ports, the 1247-S3 for small ports. The S3 version is a steel laminate and doesn't sog and get sucked into the port like the original Printo seal gaskets.

I used mostly Mr. Gasket 202A gaskets during all my intake testing.  They always seem to work well.

I like the Mr Gasket as well, but if the blue Felpro kit gaskets fit (they are pretty thick) and seal to your intake, pretty easy to use and hard to beat for price and sealing

You have solid replies from real engine builders here, but I have assembled 3 or 4 FE engines with the Mahle MS15166X intake gaskets and have had great results.

I`ve used Felpros for yrs, I was just looking to replenish my stock and discovered that they had changed to using the blue seal bead on the the better gaskets. I`m about to order some gaskets and I think it will be the Mr Gaskets this round. Thanks guys
