Shrugging my shoulders.....I get what you all are saying but I think anyone contributing by being there and doing these things is a GOOD thing. As long as the "junk" is safe. If people are not involved then these hobbies die. I like cars, period and there is way less participation from younger folks in this area. The youth is what drives it and we are losing it in my opinion. Now for me and mine I likely created a monster buy redoing an 84 C10 for my sons first truck. It was cheaper than buying something more modern, and he absolutely loves it and all the comments on it. Time will tell but I feel he is hooked and will tinker with cars in his adult life.
The LS is a killer platform, not matter what you can't take anything away from it. The only reason Ford guys tend to hate on them is they make power and can do it for way less $$$. If it was a FORD then Chevy guys would feel the same. It is comical. Money is tight these days and that plays a huge factor in finishing cars. I think a lot of people realize putting 15K in a 5K car is not wise so hence the junk. Or you could be like me and have 20K in a 5K dollar truck HAHA. Anyway, that is just my .02 for what it is worth with the point being we are all in it together, no people, no event, no fun.
