'69 Mustang Center Dash Gauge Pod
« on: August 10, 2020, 06:45:32 AM »
Does anyone know of a center dash gauge pod that fits a '69 Mustang?

I'm looking for one similar to this, but that matches the contours of the '69 dash:

Worst case, I figured I could get a universal one, fiberglass it, and try to find a covering material that matches the dash texture as best as possible.  I'm trying to avoid pillar and column gauge pods if possible- nothing against them, but I feel like the center dash gauge pods look less invasive.

I don't know of any add-on pods such as you show, but if you get a dash for AC, you can use the center vent hole to fit in 2 gauges.

I don't have an AC dash, but I do have a repro that I'm not terribly afraid to cut into.  I was already designing a plaque to cover switch holes, so it wouldn't be terribly difficult to design in two gauges in that fashion.  I might still try to make my own center dash pod too.

Have you considered the Tony Branda gauge pod that mounts in the console directly under the heater controls?  http://www.cobranda.com/19cogapod.html

I am considering that one.  I'm also looking into machining a bezel that fits where the radio would normally go, but covering it with a similar-looking woodgrain so it matches the rest of the interior.  I'm not a big fan of interior resto-mods, so I'm trying to keep everything looking like "it's meant to be there," if that makes sense.
