most effectiv way to save wheight is skip the
milk and cokies

it saves more wheight
than having a flimsy floor
How are you going to use the car
Fighting for the top megabuck price money
then its worth it
I dont remember the gauges and stuf
but most stock floors are 1-1.25 mm
steel wheights 8 kg/square meter/mm
and you use about 3-4 sq/m on a car total wheight
on a floor about 25-30 kg 50 60 lbs its like a 65 ah
battery
going down to 0.75 mm saves you 6-8 kg ( about12-17 lbs)
but the you need more bracing
aluminium saves you maby 15 kg (30lbs )
try to get ass much beads in the floor ass posible
instead of extra bracing
I have seen many thin floors braced with sqaretube
so they where way heavier than a stock floor
no rearseat? the floor behind fronseat is just wind protection
and dont bolt the seats to the floor
I have built a few racecars and in the end i used 1mm steel
easier to work with easier to weld cheaper than alu
put that extra money on lighter rims instead
you gain more there
skip milk and cookies and take a real big dump before the race
