I haven’t caught up on reading past forums yet, so I’m curious about details of your build, 7.3 so in the 450 ci range. What do you run for headers?  I just got a set from Arizona, and sent them to jet hot. I assume you’re sticking with the 4speed, what’s your clutch of choice? I’m looking at a Ram.

Looks like it would fit easy in any older Ford. Waiting to see if there will be a stand alone for the engine so we can swap in manual transmissions

I may not have made it clear, but this is not my video. I am not doing this swap myself. I am sticking with old school for now... If you have any questions about my actual current build, I would be happy to answer. I am keeping the 4 speed btw. I am in the process of upgrading the drivetrain, suspension, etc. front to rear on my Fairlane.

Well with Brian Wolfe on it , will be great. He is the man for the man who headed the FR9 NASCAR engine, and oversaw development of the factory CJ cars, and many years ago was one of the first 5.0 Mustang racers. I have been told he was involved with the design of the 7.3 before his retirement from Ford.  Brian is just  super nice, very personable, and a real racer. Those who knew him at Ford, said he was very smart, and a great boss.
I wondered why the 9 cam bearings, that is more a race deal, but a contribution from Brian's racing background IMO.

New video up this morning:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ML4SlsScnBY   They have a dyno motor that made near 600hp on stock bottom end, upgraded hydraulic cam (and I assume springs) and some mild port work, and a big intake.  Pretty amazing.  They said the heads out of the crate on the motor flow 320 cfm intake side stock.

There's a '97 F-350 in my barn that I'd like to see one of those in, right now it's a 7mpg 460 gas hog. I hope Ford makes a crate package.

Looks and sounds like this motor is pretty tough a lot like an LS. The only thing is you aren’t going to be able to pick one up at the bone yard for 500 bucks. Curious to see what a boosted application in a car is going to be.

Pretty good video. I asked what the width was across the exhaust and valve covers in Evans previous video and they made another video answering that. This is a pretty cool engine and looks like lots of potential.
The LS guys are poo-pooing the 430hp rating. It's a truck engine. Their 8.1 made 330hp.

LOL, our 93 F-350 DRW.  I just ordered a new 2020 7.3L Crew F-350 DRW 4x2.  Hope to have it by March sometime.

Exactly.  over 400 ft/lbs at only 1800 RPM, truck is rated at 16,500 max trailer weight, 21,000 GCVW and not a diesel.  There's another video out there of the 7.3L in a 250 SD 4x4.  800 mile trip from Flagstaff to Denver, they averaged right at 15 MPG.

That bottom end is impressive.  Six bolt mains on every main.  Steel crank.  I like it.  For a future project, looks like a solid foundation.

Thing makes power... 2.2mpg isn't that great but it blows the Chevy away.

https://www.tfltruck.com/2020/02/2020-ford-f-250-godzilla-7-3l-v8-gets-maxed-out-on-the-worlds-toughest-test-here-is-how-it-did-video/

If the aftermarket support comes to even 10% of whats available for an LS there should be dual quad intakes and Cobra LeMans valve covers for it and several brands of aftermarket heads and blocks.
