So far we like it. It's big - BIG. Might fit in the shop - shop is 23.5' deep, truck is 22' long. It should fit through the door - back of cab is 79", door is 81.5ish. Another benefit of getting the 4x2 with 17" wheels - it's not near as tall as a 4x4 diesel with the 20" wheels. House garage - fergetaboutit. Unless we leave the door open that is. Bought a 55" Visio TV for grandson's apartment warming gift at Target - just slid the box in the back seat and shut the door. Our daughter got in it and said "you could hide a baby in the console."
Race car is in the way in the shop and wife won't let the door car in the house garage because of evap fumes. (I need to graft an evap control system on to a race car LOL!) so I cant test fit it until I load the dragster in the big trailer and move the car. 95 miles on it now in one day just driving to get used to it. In Eco mode we've done as well as 12.5 MPG. Ref - 1993 F-350 7.5L gets 9.5 @ 70 MPH freeway. It gets the trans into gear 10 pretty quick with just us in the cab. This has the XLT Upgrade package, so heated seats, lane holding, blind spot, power trailer tow mirrors and such. Pedals move and the seat has 8 way adjust so my wife can adjust it to drive it. She is a bit short, so has to jack the seat up, raise the pedals and so on. I added Box Link and the bed LEDs - the bed LEDs are great at night, well worth the $60 upcharge. The box link parts come with locks, haven't unpacked that yet. May be good for securing fuel jugs in the bed on trips. The mirrors also have LEDs underneath that light the ground, and have spots on the forward edge you can turn on. We set the mirrors to fold back into the doors when you lock the truck - very cool. Have to put 1000 miles on it before pulling, so we're going to do a road trip this weekend. Display still shows 417 miles to empty. I plan to sort out the trailer hitch/hookup stuff this coming Sunday. We have a TnT at the track scheduled for 3/7, so it may not get that full 1K before it goes to work. The trailer setup looks like fun and it also tracks trailer miles. So you have to enable and disable the trailer to get accurate trailer tracking. Blind Spot is good to 32', trailer is 34' so close enough. We did not spring for the "ultimate trailer tow" option. Backup cam on tailgate is great. Also like that when you unlock all doors, the tailgate unlocks. And when you lock, locks the tailgate with the doors. No separate keyhole in the tailgate. Tailgate is big, but it's light weight. It's quiet inside too, and even out - with the truck idling very little engine noise.
As an IT guy, the worst deal is the Ford Pass app - they really need to work on that thing as it has some real issues. Android Auto works pretty good. Only got the Google Maps up and running for nav. Radio will use various sources so it should pick up my Pandora app when I load it. Lots of tech to fiddle with on the new stuff. When we got the Escape, we spent like 2 hours just sitting in the driveway setting up phone apps, displays and such. This one will be about the same I think. Lots of info displays including trans temp, fuel averages, dual trip details and so on. I'll post a few pics in a minute.
