Electronic Vacuum Advance Module?
« on: November 07, 2019, 07:52:23 AM »
I called MSD about options for an electronic vacuum advance for a dual point that didn't offer a mechanical vacuum advance. I figured there would be a small discrete module that plugged into vacuum and worked with the newer 6&7 boxes. Seems like a simple concept. Has anyone figured out a way around running a vacuumless dual point distributor with an electronic advance?

You want electronic advance but not electronic trigger? Why not just throw a factory Duraspark distributor in with ignition box of your choice? More accuracy, energy, comparable reliability while gaining vacuum advance. And can be done with junkyard parts if you wish. Win win IMO

There are many ideas out there, one size does not fit all. I am just interested in an electronic vacuum advance.

I read a few different threads. Is there a keyword or term that will get me to the right one?

I never did find anything. I do not recall any vehicles that may have used such a unit. I e-mailed him a week ago but have not heard back. Did you see mention of this?
Thanks
