Had my Fairlane at track day

Engine Details: 427 S/O. 4.25 x 4.25.  11.5-1 compression, Lykins Custom Hydro Roller with Morel short travel lifters, Barry R CNC heads from 2018 EMC, Jay Brown Victor intake from 2005 Drag Week, QFT 950 cfm, Crites 2” headers, Pypes X pipe with cut outs.

Transmission: David Kee all aluminum wide ratio T/L

Driveshaft:  Custom 2.5”

U-joints.     1350

Rear end type:  Currie center

Differential type:   Detroit TrueTrac

Gear ratio:   Ford 4.57

Axles:         Ford 31 spline from 68 GT 350

Front tires: Hoosier front runners

Front wheels:  Weld Racing

Rear tires:  Hoosier 9 x 28 x 15 slicks

Rear wheels.   Weld Racing

Front suspension: Calvert 90/10, sway bar off

Rear suspension:  Calvert split monos, Caltrac bars, Caltrac 9 way adjustables

Ready-to-race weight:  3340 with driver

Only made two passes as motor has to come apart due to excessive crank walk. Fan belt was on as well as air cleaner. Left air cleaner on to keep A/F @13/1 at 6500 trap rpm.

Satisfied to get car into 11s and not scatter any parts. Would have liked to experiment with tire pressures,(pass shown was 15.5 psi), and launch rpm but decided not to press luck further.

Link works. Haulin the mail for sure! Looks like she spun quite a bit in first, then popped a tire in second. Cool.

Jim,
Link works!  Maybe try 13# in the slicks and see if that helps or I can’t remember if your clutch is adjustable  needs to be lighter as it spun a fair amount on launch. Sorry the motor has to come out :(

John there is a big heavy 12” McCleod three finger in there on a 29 lb. flywheel, non adjustable with a ceramic/ceramic disc from McCleod also. For a street car with 600 plus foot lbs the choices are slim pickings. McCleod offered an 11” when the engine was going in during the spring but it ended up being back ordered and I had to put something in there. Probably not going slipper route for this car but could go lighter with traditional style.

For the few times you are on a track you have a good set up. The 60 ft has a lot to do with track, rpm, tire pressure and clutch but you know that. I’ve had 4 different motors in my car and until last year the 60 ft times were all the same. They would change a little due to track conditions but until I figured out clutch pressures - still learning- ...
I went from 12’s, 11’s to 10’s and the sixty foot never really changed as I didn’t do much  to make it better. From the video 1st gear spins and second hits like a freight train hit you from behind. Your car is strong!
Enjoy it as it is, it will be fun!

you have a mid to high 10 second 1/4 mile car based on your 122 MPH pass , sweet

I was impressed with the mph but to get the E/T you mentioned there is going to be some work needed on the clutch and work on the skill set of the guy in the seat!
