557 @ 6400.  This one will sound wicked with the cam and compression.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the peak HP is a bit lower than the internet consensus, but I expect the torque to be earth moving.  Please, Please post the complete torque curve.

550 HP @ 5900.

Maybe close to 600 ft-lbs around 4500?

Brent, Would it be possible post the minimum idle speed and idle vacuum? Interested because some "stock" pickup pulling events require 15"-17" Hg vacuum at idle to be in a "stock" class. Doubt this cam will come close to 15"-17" Hg.

Clark, this isn't a mild cam.  It won't have any vacuum, nor will it idle down low.  Idle will be at around 1200 rpm.

Clark the guys around here hide a vacuum pump to run (stock) class to help at idle.

Ok, fun day at the dyno today.  No issues except for a new oil filter adapter that had a little gouge in it that led from the top oil passage to the top of the flange.  Under pressure the thing leaked like a sieve.

Other than that, had a lot of fun.  The engine sounded really good idling.  Even at 1200 rpm, it had a unique sound to it.  And with any higher compression engine, it always *feels* good when you're standing near.

This was a very solid combination.  I didn't note it in the build specs, but this is a newer lobe from Comp that runs on just .010" of lash.  It should be very easy on the valvetrain.  I set the cold lash at .010" and when I checked them hot, they had not moved, so it was a very stable combination of valve springs, rocker arms, etc.

So for the numbers....

We made peak hp of 568 hp @ 6250, with a 1.07 correction factor.  So, the uncorrected number is 531.  I haven't looked back through the posts, but whoever guessed nearest 531 without going over will win.

Peak torque was 536 lb-ft @ 4500.  Those are corrected numbers.

I didn't expect this one to be a torque monster.  Any time that you have a large camshaft with rpms in mind, the torque will generally be less than the horsepower.  The longer lobe separation helped it hang on as it still had 564 corrected horsepower at 6500.

All-in-all, the camshaft and the higher compression were tools to band-aid the cylinder heads.  We basically made 2hp per cfm, but if we were to slap a set of TFS heads on this puppy, I bet the horsepower would go through the roof.   My customer was trying to keep this on much of a budget as we could and his viewpoint was to reuse the heads and spend the money on the bottom end, as we could always swap heads later.   I think that will be the goal.

Just for data's sake, we ran this at 140-150 degree water temp.  A/F was 13:1 and that big, deep Milodon pan made the oil temp go DOWN as the pull went up.  Cool stuff.

If you're on Instagram, I have videos going up.  I'll try to YouTube them too.

Love to hear a puller. Looks like we all overbid but 3 with Jameson Racing taking the win at 519? The heads must really be holding it back. Dang it I was wanting a discount on a set of them rockers lol.
