There's no way I'd run factory rockers and shaft on a cam like he is running.  Almost .700 lift and I am sure the spring pressure is well over 300 lbs.
I have seen a few sets here of Chinese rollers that were copies of the Dove broken in half where the shaft passed through the rocker.
Perhaps they will work well but the quality has been hit and miss.

.700 lift I must have missed that? I thought he was talking about a street engine not the 527ci aluminum FE with roller cam.  I would be worried running those cheap rockers on a mild street build hence the comment about using the factory stuff. When I bought my TP from Mickey Thompson it had all stock Ford parts including the adjustable rockers. I ran it up to 7,000 rpm for a few years racing in super street with my mustang before the shafts became too bent to use (.577 lift cam)  the rockers seemed to be fine. I changed to a set of FPP bushed rollers and over .650 lift that were still working fine when I sold the motor about 7yrs later.

They are made by Dove. Those aren't the old bushed FFP offering. Ron Miller hasn't sold a set of those since about 2001. The pushrod design in his posting tell us it's much more recent.

Those rockers are POP as Barry mentioned. I have a set of them on the shelf and have had my hands on a few different sets of FE rockers. The Dove body has a different shape. They are essentially "updated" FPP rockers. I have one of those to look at too. Doug at POP used to work for FPP, IIRC. My FPP rocker has a large hex nut, and the newer POP's come with ARP 12pt.

I have the same style from Dove. As for FPP.. I spent a lot of time there. I knew Ron, Doug and Dennis quite well. I spent a lot of time over at the FPP location on Carminta Blvd in Norwalk, Ca. My arms came Via Dennis from DSC and they were Dove.  I wouldn't be surprised if they all used the same manufacturer at one point.

Thanks, I've also noticed T&D mentioned quite a bit but they seem to be in the $1,200 or more range.  I think I'm going to hold on to this set as they seem to be quality and can handle a more radical cam.  This current engine is a 527ci All Aluminum FE (Genesis Block) with a .645 lift solid roller cam 248/248@.050 and will be a seldom driven street car.  I found the following on eBay and think I may give them a try.  Any experience with these guys at AT Racing or this kit ?

I'd stick with what you have it is not overkill or underkill. I'd sooner run factory rockers with good shafts and end stands then that ProComp stuff. They do not have a good rep on their valvetrain stuff.

Without knowing what lobes your cam has hard to say 100%, but if it is a street grind it will have lobes designed to not beat up the valvetrain. I doubt you have more than 600 lbs over the nose and net lift is likely about .630".

What I would be concerned with if you were to go with something more "radical" would be the four little bolts holding the rocker assm. to the head.

Anyone have experience with the PRW Industries kits ??  I'm also looking at the product pictured here as well.  The PRW rep stated that the stainless is cast but can handle up to 650# open pressure.  I know some have claimed that the cast rockers have been failing but I haven't heard from anyone who has experienced that.  Any links to forum threads showing these failures would be greatly appreciated.  This set is a little more expensive but at least PRW has been around for awhile making these and they carry a 1 year warranty (which is not worth much considering how long it takes to get some of these projects on the road).  Thanks for all the comments.

The subject of budget FE roller rockers comes up often on the FE Facebook pages. Usually reports from some people who haven’t had a problem ( yet ), but plenty of reported failures too. Seems to be the same case with the PRW’s too. Here’s a picture of one person’s PRW stainless rocker failure. He stated it was a fairly mild 428 with nowhere near the max spring pressure and less than 5000 miles.

Those rockers in the first post are for sure Precision Oil Pumps. Same as the FPP and I think Doug was the maker and supplied Ron rather than worked for him. They work fine and even though mine are the earliest version and not supposed to be used with the 800lb springs I have they have been pretty good.

That wasn't the picture of the AT Racing ones was it?

I think the Chinese ones may look OK but i'd be afraid to run them
