Hi Drew, thanks for the reply so basically they should be gone through and blue printed. So does much have to change calibration wise or is it all issues related to poor QC? Thanks, Steve

Drew:
Will I be able to adjust the secondaries from the top of the throttle plate?

Gone through yes, also remember these new ones are often set for a stock pickup truck engine which will have high vacuum at idle, so putting them on a performance vehicle may not be best without changing some bleeds.
I am not as up on these as the whizz bang $299 brand new carb crowd stopped showing up here.  They are like "You'll fix my carb issues for $150, but but but I only paid a lil more than that for it new."  lol

Keith, set screw is easily accessed from underneath with carbs installed.  I literally just take out that slotted screw and toss it in the trash, I put a 10-32 1/2inch long brass set screw in with a dab of loctite to provide some drag.  3/32 allen fits and makes it to where you can adjust idle speed without disturbing the transfer slot settings.

Have to love such simplicity. It idled about 900 with the cam. Sounds great!

Drew, when I first set my 63 427 up I used new 1850-2s.  I couldn`t buy a set of BJ/BKs. No one wanted to sell a set, or if they did date codes became a major selling point from the sellers. I opted for the 1850s and after a little tweaking  those puppies worked fine. Still do to this day.
