Flywheel recomendation
« on: February 11, 2019, 11:14:27 AM »
Going to order an SFI approved flywheel in the next couple days. Not a race deal and will never see 6k but I beat on it and want the piece of mind. I would prefer American made. Looking at this one https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fms-m-6375-n427 open to any recommendations. Also would anyone know off the top of their head if this would use 1" bolts.

That's a good one, as is any from RAM/McLeod.

Curious what makes them worth another $50 bucks tho. And why Ram lists a 1519 and 1519B wouldn't they both be billet?! Same price but 2 lbs difference. Not sure that would matter much don't think I'd be able to tell a difference in flywheel weight anyway.

The "B" version is a little lighter.  They are both billet.

I ended up using a Mcleod flywheel on my 428 and it's wonderful. I had originally ordered a Hays flywheel, but the center hole was machined too small and would not fit over the crank index.

I have that one on my junk. It looks very nice and checked out well on runout. I also had the balance checked, just cuz I'm paranoid. I used the ARP 200-2802 bolts...
