One bad mofo...
« on: January 30, 2019, 04:34:32 PM »
This thing is just perfect.  Make sure to watch the vid, looks like it's still a handful even as he pulls 4th.  Wonder what it'd run if he could keep his foot in it.

Wonder what manual trans he is running.

At about the 0.54 sec into the video you can see the right rear wheel hop up off the track.

The red tinted hood scoop is killer.

Pretty cool car, sounds great, and appears to be a Real handful! Watching the video it appears to weigh what 24 or 2500 w/driver, it definitely 60 foots..             Al

First time I saw Hubert Platt run a '68 Mustang fastback with Tunnel Port, he had the track to himself.  That mustang jumped two feet sideways on every gear change just like that '55.  Good thing he had the track to himself, he was all over it until he got the car sorted out for time trials.   That '55 would be solid in the 8's with a good C-4.   Joe-JDC

Wow is that ever cool. A 9.05 at 138 is indicating a early shutoff so an 8 second car quite easily. That Cammer is making some power!

Love the car. I would have done a nicer job
to the rear wheel openings though

I have watched this car progress from half built to what it is now.. he runs at the Meltdown drags at Byron for the past few years.. .. The first year out it was not very impressive but he sure has it dialed in now.. He put a lot of scrub powered gassers to shame..  Great name for the car !

I watched the video the other day.  Notice the really poor chassis set up and the rear wheels bouncing off the ground.

I agree, could be into the 8's real easy with some chassis tuning.  The top end looks real scary as it is dancing around pretty bad.

Transmission is likely a Jerico or maybe a Gforce 4 spd

Fun to watch - maybe not so fun to drive.  Lot of chassis loading/unloading going on there.  Goes pretty straight but wouldn't take much to upset it IMHO.  Very cool car.
