BT 2x4 intake

So I got a late Christmas present yesterday, received my new BT 2x4 intake and it has the c7 part
number on it which makes it look stock. Very excited since my car is on the verge of a 10 second car and I think it is very streetable. I’m assuming I should be able to get a little more than a tenth out of it. A thanks goes out to Dennis at DSC motorsports everything went very smooth and I got it just when he said I would have it.

I have never had an issue with Dennis. He's always been straight up and fair.  I didn't realize that Art had slowed down as much as he has. I was running the BT dual quad as well. It was better made than Ford manifolds and fit better.  I wound up going back to the the C7ZX intake as it's what was correct for the vehcile.

Those are nice and very versatile intakes per Jay's book.   What intake do you have on there now?

I have the original low riser intake. I have no complaints about it but was told I should see anywhere from 25-40 horse over the lowriser. So compared to how much money you have to spend to see certain amounts of horsepower an intake swap  is fairly easy as long as nothing has to be cut.

That seems reasonable to me.  You mentioned that you are on the verge of having a streetable 10 second car.  That is cool.  Can you tell me the engine and car combination?

plovett its a 485 with 10.75 compression medium size solid cam 282/288-621-624 112 lobe. Idles at 800/900
in gear. Twin 750 QF carbs with Barrys heads right out of the box. C-6 3000 stall in a 67 fastback 3500 with me in it.
It starts all the time and doesnt overheat. I probably have 1500 miles on it and some track passes.

Stangman, can you tell me more about your cam?  Is it a flat tappet or roller? 0.050" duration?  What brand is it?  What lobes are they?  It is obviously working well for you.

That would be a 280/250 TL intake lobe and a 288/254 XTX exhaust lobe. 

You have a center oiler without provision for pressurized oil to the lifters?

yes thats the one. See im not good enough on the computer to get that and put it over here. There is also another cam in the same post which is alittle bigger. I know that this one is working well but I think the other one might of netted me alittle more horsepower. I do need this motor to last with all the college loans coming in from the kids I cant afford to do another. So I dont mind that the shifting is done relatively low (6200). I dont just unnecessarily beat the crap out of it. I did have the H beams put in so 6200 shouldnt be a problem at all.
