Sure it can, for a while. I ran a clutch type in my 489 for years. As long as tire sizes are the same, you arent doing a lot of burnout box action where one tire may catch traction quickly, and assuming you run a good limited slip additive, they do real well.
Once one of those variables are tweaked, it gets ugly quick.
There are some that have a big hole drilled in the clutch hat, they can crack over time, but generally on the street they all do fine
