67 Mustang Fastback build
« on: August 29, 2012, 07:37:58 AM »
My mustang build consists of a Silver 390 fe 4 speed car that has been resurected so to speak. The car was in a poor state when i purchased it  from many years of neglect and abuse , it has had many  different colours some accident damage and died from 3  45 calliber bullet holes to the body where and when i dont no . It has had a complete makeover with new panels where required and many hours of body work to bring it back to life ,many thanks to my sons and good friends .I have just finished fitting a G-bar 4 link rear suspension and my own front coil over front end . Disc brakes all round with 330 mm discs up front with 4 spot calipers .It has a 31 spline 3.25 rear end with a TKO 600 transmission . The engine build has just started with a 390 FE 40 thou over with a Scat 4.125 assembly and custom grind  Comp hydraulic roller cam ,T&D roller rocker assembly all from Barry R and with Edelbrock heads . It will be running a FAST XFI fuel injection on a Dove Tri Power Tunnel wedge manifold . F&B throttle bodies are building the Tri Power fuel system for the manifold with billet throttle bodies .Bruce Bridges has done a system for a Small Block Ford ,and many systems for Big block Chrylser . Check his site  out he does some great work . Should look great with a Oval air cleaner on top . I am hoping this will all match in to bring some life back into a great old car .I hope to post some photos as the build comes together .

Regards Mark

Mark

Looks like a nice build.  Where are you located? I hope to see some more updates on your motor build.

You should post a build thread over on LatG.

http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/

As info they'd be stoked on your chassis and brake work and no nothing about the motor.

Are you planning on taking it to any Goodguys or other autocross or road events?  If so maybe I'll see you there with my Torino.

Yes it certainly is something different for a FE .From all accounts the systems they have fitted to  Mopars work quite well and with most driving situations running on the centre throttle body there will a smooth transition to  WOT . Hopefully all will work well once we get the tune set up with the Fast XFI .I have had some previous expierence setting up a Wolf 3D fuel injection system on a Twin charged 1.8 litre so it was quite complexed setting up the fuel and ignition maps, hopefully this will be more straight foward.
