Has anyone here modified the flat tip of a transducer probe so it will have a radius? Pictures? I ordered a cheap unit on eBay that has a flat tip so it doesn't work for cylinder walls which is my primary reason for buying it. I read somewhere about someone doing this but I can't find it now. I checked the unit with gauge blocks and it seems to be pretty accurate and I don't want to mess it up. The tip is stainless steel with a plastic core and a divider for the two sides. The wires are not removable so I cannot machine it in a lathe. I'm thinking about putting it in the mill or just using a grinding wheel to hand work a radius on the tip.
