my 67 gta fairlane
« on: September 03, 2017, 05:30:17 PM »
Finally got my fairlane to the track this summer. This a driver that sees about a thousand miles a year.
Engine is a .60 over 390 cross bolted. Old trw 12 to one pistons. Truck rods, arp bolts. Heads are aluminum  dove f5, hand ported by me. They flow 290 at .600 lift. Dove rockers, Dove spider itake, 950 biggs carb. Cam is .569 intake .580 exhaust, 108 lobe. Trans is c6 with 3600 converter, 3.89 gears, full spool.
Performance was 1/8 mile, 7.76 at 88.6 mph, 1.71 60ft.
Had some tuning issues and broke a rocker adjuster on the last pass, but i think there is a couple tenths left with some proper tuning.

Sure can, what info do you need? It is pretty streetable, tuning is a little over my head with the air bleeds. They did a 1050 dominator for me years ago and it made a world of difference in power and throttle response.

I've learned that purchasing a Bigs carburetor is like inviting Red Sovine to St Jude.

That Bigs carburetor works better as a door stop, than a controlled fuel drip.

How so?
No secondary fuel flow after it was said to flow "Mint" as tested.

Edit.....After having it fail on the dyno, disassembly and air check circuits
saw nothing wrong.Installed it on my engine with secondary operation
only.It flows mint!...Zed and Red are dead.
