Question for Jay - 427 hi riser blower cam specs
« on: May 28, 2017, 11:08:26 PM »
Hi Jay

I am discussing an engine build with Blair P.  Looking at building a 500 ci. 427 hi riser w 871 roots blower.  I was wondering about the cam specs in your blower engine.   Can you please pm me the specs. Blair has discussed a couple of cam options and was curious about your build.

Thanks,

Wade

Not Jay, but in my experience with blowers, use the camshaft you want, and the blower will complement it.  I personally prefer something not so radical, and just increase the boost to get whatever power I need.  JMO, Joe-JDC

Sorry, but those cam specs are long gone, and the cam is still in the engine so I can't check it.  I know for a fact that LSA was 114, and duration at .050" was in the low 270s on the intake and high 270s on the exhaust; lift was over .700".  Generally speaking, all the performance tricks for a naturally aspirated engine work on a supercharged or turbocharged engine also, so cam for the power level that you are shooting for.
