Wow, to possibly have an original SOHC test car there. That's pretty cool. Info and individuals who made this engine what it is, it all needs to go down into a book. One day, everyone who played a part in creating and modding the SOHC will have passed on. There is so much story to be told about this engine. I'm one of the very few young guys (25) interested in this engine and some day, more of my generation will probably learn about it. It's funny how as you get older, your taste for very old stuff grows. The nostalgia in you takes over. We live in a world where it is easier than ever to record history, to record stories about some of the best years in motorsports. There will never be a 60's era of racing ever again, for the better and the worst. The 60's has a glorious beauty to it but also, a very bloody shadow. It doesn't matter what type of motorsports you're into, it was dangerous and deadly. I know in Formula 1, as a driver you had a higher chance of dying in a crash than you did of surviving the era. I'm sure this was the same for all forms of motor racing. There was however, a gorgeous ignorance to the era, a whole new frontier to pioneer. The only way to keep this era a part of history that can be passed down, is to record all the wonderful stories. There are also secrets of the era that deserve to be shared.
