C4ae-g heads

Just thought I'd post a couple pics and get a few opinions of a little port work. I cc'd the heads prior to grinding on them. They where 142 which I thought they where supposed to be around 150 which after porting (minus a little blending left to do) they measured at 153cc's. I guess I was wondering if anyone cc'd these heads before and after mild porting. I just tried to straighten the sides, raised the roof slightly and a little pocket porting. I left the short side alone except a little clean up of the casting flash.

I'm by no means a head porting guy, but they look good to me.
Iron is tough, it takes some time to do all 16 holes.

Thanks guys. I haven't kept track of time but probably have 2-3 hours in each intake port. Just starting the exhaust side. Haven't figured out how I'm gonna attack them yet. I guess no one has measured these ports before and after porting. Im just curious that's all.

Looks like you improved the flow but didn't go nuts enlarging your cross section. Should work good on a 390. It always get hung up on the "more is better" idea and ultimately screw everything up.  Are you keeping the stock size valves?

I started down this road a few years ago and then changed my mind after I talked to Les Schmader. He only wanted $525 to port my C4-G heads and add bigger valves. I sent him the valves of course but for that kind of $$$ it was a no brainer for me.

Looks real nice, but the real story will be when you get them on a flow bench and see how well they flow, and if they stayed quiet.

Valves are going to be cj size and I hope to get them on a flow bench soon. There going on a 390 with a 294s. Cam and a street master intake which I have a crazy off the wall idea for as well. 525$ plus valves sounds like a hell of a price knowing what time goes into this. Granted i didn't use carbide burrs Very much, to be cautious. I'm hoping to get flow in the 240 range by 400" of lift.
