16 Hole pattern for CJ Exhaust
« on: June 05, 2015, 04:16:43 PM »
I have a set of C6AE-R heads with eight exhaust flange bolts.  I would like to drill for a 16 bolt CJ exhaust pattern.  Does anyone have a drawing or a sketch showing the bolt hole pattern with dimensions?

Don't have the hole layout handy. But watch the depth when you drill and tap the lower holes, might find water down there :-)

Take your CJ exhaust manifolds and lay them on the head, and install any bolts that fit, then take a center punch and centerpunch the other holes.  Drill and tap from your centerpunch location.  You will need a real center punch, not an awl to get the holes perfectly centered with the manifolds.  Joe-JDC

Use a transfer punch in the method stated above.

The last 2 replies are exactly how I do it....Manifold for the template and transfer punches for the hole location....
