OK, I give. How are you guys attaching photos?
« on: December 06, 2011, 04:23:02 PM »
I've spent hours writing posts for a couple days in the projects forum only to have it say file too large. Then I can't delete my attachments so I am stuck and loose all my work. I've down sized my photos, I don't know what to do, I thought I had it under the limit. Help! I'm well under the 128 KB limit.

The best way is to host your photos online somewhere.  Photobucket is a good place; www.photobucket.com.  Click "Sign Up" at the upper right of the Photobucket home page and follow the instructions.  When you are done, you will be able to upload files from your computer to your Photobucket account, and then insert the pictures into your posts here.  Photobucket is free, so no cost to you for doing this.

Try that, and if you get stuck, reply here and I'll try to help you through it - Jay

I've got a photobucket account, I tried to do the same thing as the FE forum but when I previewed it just showed text so I didn't think it worked. Is that how it works?

You have to copy the "IMG code" of your photobucket picture.  Then paste in your post here.  When you run your cursor over your photo, or if you click on it, in photobucket 4 different image codes should pop up.  You want to click on the bottom one, labeled "IMG code", to copy it.

Here are my kids in my garage "playing".  These are not posed photographs.  I think my older son has a 1-1/8" box wrench there.

And my wife disposing of the local wildlife.

Apparently my garage is an epicenter for madness.

You should see the picture in the preview.  The text that calls the picture from photobucket, when you past it into your post, should have the "image" tags on either side.  This is a square bracket, the letters "img", and the other square bracket in front of the http://.. stuff, and then the square bracket, a slash, "img", and the other square bracket at the end.  I can't type it exactly here because it will think I'm trying to put in a picture LOL.  Here's a picture of some example text:

Yes, and I found a dead 'possum in there about a month ago.

Bring on the rat story, Jay!

Yeah, not my best move.   I find tools in strange places.  Usually it's faster to just go the hardware store and buy whatever tool I need than to actually look for it.
