Wow!! We now have a sub group of Y Blockers on the FE Power Forum! Maybe after all Jay's frustration with Cammers he will focus his considerable skills on this engine

Turbohunter, Congrats on getting motivated to pick up that 292.. A few simple mods will make that thing run great..
If you believe the scrub lovers, They owned the 50's with their Satan's triplets 55-57 . Not true.. Do you really think a stock 265 had a prayer against a 312 or even a 292? A lot of revisionist history there.. It was not until 327's came along and got transplanted into tri 5s that they started making noise on the street .
I just got back from Ford Expo where we have a Y Block gathering and racing. Our 19th year. Of 20 racers The fastest car this year is Ted Eaton's little Atered running 8.90s All motor.. My Lincoln Y block powered Altered dipped into the 9s with a 9.92 . Harry Hutton who pulled a 60 Mercury 2dr sedan out of a junk yard about 10 yr ago, and has run it since on the stock motor. He started at 20 sec. ET. Through the years with a lot of chassis and engine tuning but hardly any engine upgrades he had it in the 14.90's but deadly consistent. He won a lot of bracket races.
This year he stepped up to a new engine, a few more cubes, Mummert heads and intake, but not anything radical.. He dropped his ET to 12.90's You can imagine the grin on his face.
