adjustable rockers.

What are my options for adjustable rockers. I want to shy away from aluminum. Seems like every time I come across factory rockers they are in the $400 dollar range then when you ad in the cost of end supports and hd shafts your at the price of after market stuff. Keep your eyes peeled for a set of the old Iskenderian ductile iron rocker arms.  They are excellent parts; I've run them with spring pressures up to 600 pounds open and never had a problem.  They look like stock rockers, but beefier, and probably much less expensive than the steel rockers available now, assuming you can find a set...

I'm assuming the prw are Chinese junk given the price but what about the Shelby's Or do you just think the isky's can be had at a reasonable price. just want something that will last on the street spring pressures won't be very harsh.

I think you can get these steel Graham rockers from one of the vendors here.  They should work great on a street engine and you won't have to worry about them breaking from fatigue.

For what it's worth, I just recently was going to use a nice set of Isky rockers and they were short on ratio compared to the stock 1.76. Something to check and/or consider if this is a performance build.

That's surprising about the Isky's since I believe they are the only one's Jay found to have full ratio when tested a few years ago? Are they a new set or from years ago?

Honestly I don't know. I bought them about a year ago, used but like new. Had some issues with them and changed to Harland Sharps and picked up some lift. I'd have to mock them back up to get an actual ratio.

That's correct about the Isky rockers I have.  One of my friends runs stock eliminator and he tested dozens of factory rockers and they were all short on ratio, but the Iskys were right on...

I think there is more than one version of Iskys.  Mine were clearly marked 1.5:1 and ran a ball/ball pushrod.  Adjuster came up from the bottom

I have an old set of Isky's as well. They are beefy. Thats for sure! They no longer make them. Dont know why!?

One advantage of the roller tip rocker is they dont put on much of a side load on the valves, unlike a normal rocker does. So the more radical of a cam. The more the load. That equals more the wear factor too. FE's are known for some guide issues to begin with. But here are some other great options as well~

I called that number and was able to get hold of him.  They are very impressive looking!!  He doesn't have anything on hand, and said they normally run about $650/set!!

Yeah 650 seemed a little high for just rockers. I think I might just get the Harland sharp roller tips. I was Leary of running aluminum on the street. Haven't decided yet: watch for isky's, get the graham  (for $650) and then get shafts and end supports or  Harland sharp complete set ( S4006BKE) for about $800. The Shelby steel roller rockers look nice but haven't got any feed back for them. Prw are probably china metal for that price?

I would say stay away from the  prw s , have a friend at a machine shop and they have issues .. Bud
