So the game plan is this. Many of the parts are in the recently built engine, so you'll see some odd choices compared to most of my builds.
Dove aluminum block - I just pressure tested, all good and was running and likely doing well as drained oil and indications of a good burn pattern across all 8. Going to tighten up the main registers a little, align hone due to crooked mains and full CnC prep.
Ford 3.98 crank - already internally balanced, will mag, verify balance and run with a polish if all good.
Eagle 6.49 H-beams - found two caps swapped by prior builder, game plan is to check bore sizes and swap caps back, resize as needed.
Ross flat tops - 2618 pistons with 1/16, 3/16 rings. This one may not stick, need to see piston to wall clearance, if we can get there with a torque plate, we will reuse with a set of Mahle rings, if clearance is excessive will go Racetec with 1mm/2mm pack. Currently flat top. Will be shooting for around 10.5:1 compression max, if specs good will have to CnC a little repeatable dish, but we'll see after I pour the heads
Custom flat tappet and tool steel lifters - No oil to lifters, so going a little conservative with a Nitrided iron core and tool steel lifters, probably going to end up with a 6000 RPM peak for a street car with a snotty LSA, more to do before I can pick a design
Dove SK heads - will put on the flow bench this weekend. They look hefty on the intake side, not too sexy on the exhaust. Once I get numbers we'll see if they need rubbing or just a modern valve job and good seals. I expect these to be pretty stout
Intake - Customer initially wanted a TW and dual look-a-like carbs, watching budget a bit, but will pin down before cam choice.
Should be a snarly 452-ish inch all aluminum Dove based engine in a TKX/4.11 T-bolt tribute
