Mallory distributor gear
« on: May 24, 2025, 07:45:39 AM »
I am putting an FE into an RCR GT40. It's a tight squeeze. No room for water pump and the MSD or even stock Ford distributor will not work  My only option seems to be an older Mallory with a marine crab cap.. The FE has a roller cam. What  gear would I use . It's a YL/25 Mallory distributor..

What's the shaft diameter, Royce?  You need a steel gear.  They're available in .467" and .531".

My old YL is a 37 series #3755301 and the shaft diameter is .467
I used Crane steel gear #34970-1 (Not available any longer?)
