Gathering parts for a build
« on: March 19, 2025, 05:08:08 PM »
I'm looking for a source for the "good" OEM style oil filter adaptor. Also, suggestions for a high flow mechanical fuel pump and aluminum mechanical water pump (not Edelbrock on principle alone). Thanks, Chuck

We all carry new OEM style oil filter adapters.

As for the fuel pump, the only two pumps I’d select for a 550 hp engine would be a Carter M6905 or an Edelbrock pump.

Get a Carter M6905 fuel pump.
Take it apart and port/smooth out the internal flow passages as much as possible.
There are some tight, hard, corners in the casting.

Then get some brass fittings and port them too.
They do not need to be as thick walled as they are made.

This will result in a bit more flow from the pump and that should support your 550HP engine needs nicely.
