pbf777 you can write all you like but your not going to change the minds of millions of car owners whose car came factory with electric water pumps or the masses for drag and drive cars for the last 20 years of drag week etc!

Again, the/my purpose is not "to change the minds" of anybody, rather just provide "food for thought" and maybe receive insight from others in the process.  As far as for cars that may have "came from the factory with electric pumps" those aren't relevant to subject here, and as I said "I'm not against electric water pumps", this is just attempting to be a conversation about electric water pumps and their capabilities.   :)

And, seemingly the conclusion here, by some of those that has been voiced,  the loudest, is basically "this is how we (or somebody else has) always done it", and though we haven't explored or made any observations of the pro's & con's other than this "seems" to work, so we ain't gonna change, no matter what anybody else might say, we just don't wanna hear it!  This just doesn't really sound like a good argument, does it?   ???

If it were, we might still be riding the horse!   ::)

     Please,............."discussion"!   ;D

And yes, most things are more complicated than one might initially anticipate, but one has to put forth effort to "think about it" if they wish to be enlightened; and this is the function that the Forum is supposed to provide the opportunity for.   :)

Since we seem to be exploring details here, it might be worthwhile to point out the difference between 'coarse' and 'course'. And it might be worth the effort to look at the difference between 'compression' and 'expansion and contraction'.

Speaking strictly for myself, the attitudes displayed by some of those posting here might also be worth examining. 'Toplofty' and 'overbearing arrogance' are labels that come to mind at least in some cases. But that's just me.

But unfortunately, nothing of any value (right or wrong) in the discussion of "electric water pumps"   :(

Alan if you do go for the CVR and the pump itself is out of stock order the small block complete pump a few dollars more than just the pump. I waited sic months for a pump finally bought the small block pump swapped the ears with Jays ears. And I am very happy with the pump, Spal fans and the Summit radiator. So far it hasn't gone over 180 degrees on a 95-degree day.

I looked into that. The ears are all on back order too. This is for a 385 series motor and unfortunately I haven't found any enterprising individuals such as Jay in the 385 community that make those. :)
