This was an interesting one, lots of variables changed from my normal routine, some not changed

Most important was the new dyno, I did this one locally because we had to deliver quickly.  It's very hard to compare one dyno to another, but it came up with a realistic number, although I think a little stingy, need to do another on it to see how to compare.  What I was not fond of was the correction factor, no excuses, but we went from a sunny day to snow squalls and dropping atmospheric pressure but the dyno didn't change it's correction.  Regardless, the numbers are what the machine told us, and with approx a 250 cfm head, it's using it all

This one was a set of iron heads with 11/32 valves, no porting, early BT CJ intake, also no porting, no spacers because of it being a shaker car, and a bone stock 70 CJ carb, even jetting was stock although I am running a 7.5 PV.  Turned out pretty nice, a/f was rock solid at 12.5/12.7 through the pull, although we did use all of that carb, it made lots of idle vacuum with 114 LSA and carried the HP within 4 hp from 5500 peak to 6000, torque was above 500 ft lbs from 3300-4500

This is going in a A/C C-6 PB street Mach, so it will be a monster compared to it's broken 428.  However, like the old "stone soup story"...some head, more overlap, some spacer, modern carb, etc

Regardless, neat to see that a set of unported heads and intake with a 735 and a mild mannered vacuum and idle requirement can make 100+ HP over a decent running CJ

That's a nice engine, Ross. Excellent street engine as it makes all its power by 5500. That Mustang's gonna rip.  :)

Any dimensions on the header lengths?
Or cam lift?

Good to see the old heads get the job done, then again all those SuperStock wins came from somewhere.

I haven't been up there in a while, but they were Ford truck headers, not sure on length.  Long tube, nothing fancy

Cam lift was .588
