Looking For a Cast Iron Cam Gear
« on: September 28, 2022, 08:41:51 AM »

 Hi guys,

My question is I'm looking for a cast cam gear for my flat tappet cam,  Is anyone familiar with the Napa (Echlin) DG306?
I was told it's a stock replacement gear which should be cast but I want to make sure just curious if anyone has used on of these gears it does have a much smoother finish then my original one.   I also did reach out to Brent, Barry and a couple other FE shops but they have no stock on Iron gears for the ford duraspark distributor  .467 shaft.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think it would be safe to assume that it is a stock type replacement gear (cast).  If it were steel it would be triple the price.  Try contacting the manufacturer to verify.

Hi,
Thanks for  the reply guys,  I found out today the Napa DG306 is the same as the standard ign DG18.

I just wanted to be 120% sure I had the right gear.
