Carb Hesitation

Engine ran flawlessly in my old car but I needed to remove the 1” open spacer from the rpm intake and it now hesitates off the line. Would removing the spacer cause this and any suggestions for a cure?

Did you touch anything else at all? I'd start simple with something I see all the time, is the accel pump arm(s) adjusted correctly?

You said "in my old car"
Is it installed in a different vehicle now, if so, how much different is the weight and drive train?
