I am going to take a crack at this from a different angle. Are his shafts regular thickness or HD ones that are thicker? We all saw Bill Connely spintron video years ago. As a MFG  of shafts I had access to a spintron  long ago but with a wedge head at a different angle than his. Viewed the shaft long ways. Stock shaft vs, spacers vs Hd shafts vs spacer. What a difference in the wave. Get a surf board LOL. But an idea. This solved alot and yes frequency changed/ resonance. Maybe ??? what you guys think.

You will more than likely need to put in the HP spring. Most of my Cobra guys loose between 20-30 psi going through the line, cooler and filters and back. You will be in the same boat. Another thing, with that much plumbing you will need to run and HV Pumps.

Thanks, Doug

I went through all this along time ago. I had a ranchero, even lighter in the ass end. I did everything everyone is mentioning: 90/10's, Caltracts etc. The Rear tires wer 28 x 10.5 on Weld 10'' with 5.5 back spacing. To get them to fit there is about 2" between the inner wheel tub to the frame. I cut the 2" out and with some clamps and heat did a mini-tub with stock wheel tub pushed toward frame , then welded. Also did some grinding to wheel lip. All fit no problem. Was much better after that. Here is the golden ticket I share. An older timer told me to get some crap rear shock that sag. I believe WTF was my answer. But I listened some more. Also said to get a pinion snubber. Let the ass end sag, weight transfer to back and get the bottom of car to drive the snubber into the earth. That solved all my issues. Food for thought.

FE Technical Forum / Re: 427 SOHC Gear Drive
« on: March 16, 2024, 03:16:50 PM »
I have done it a couple times.  I convert standard chain sets(top gears) all the time too. It is the same for the Milodon gear drive. Take the top Milodon gear and open up the ID to .999"-1.00" measure your stub cam you have to see which ID you need to go to so that you have a press fit. Have a 3/16" key way broached in 180' off dot. You will need to make new dot also at 180' for the new timing now. On chain style/top gears I have to cut the back step off and make width .825" .Use heat to warm up big gear/ freeze stub shaft and press together ( only your Milodon gear) install stub shaft. Use a large straight edge from other gears and mark stub cam with dye chem and scribe where to distance the drive gear. Go back to oven and freezer and press the drive gear to your scribed line and you are good.No need to pin or bolt, the press and keyway will hold just loke OEM. Then you can assemble and time everything. Here is a picture of one for you. Not my engine ( Dont Drool), but I have done it.

FE Technical Forum / Re: Rocker Arm Adjusters
« on: November 20, 2023, 11:06:33 AM »
Those will work. Be aware they are Chinese. But, they are the correct basic thread of 7/16" x 20 . Like Cammerfe stated you will need to maybe file the pad flat/90'. Then most important run a 7/16" x 20 tap through each rocker to chase out the interference thread.  Or do these steps and buy a better set.

I got one very close to that. I was the machinist there and made those. I kept making them when they went out of business. The one I have will be the same but without the logo.

FE Technical Forum / My Apologies - Thanks for your support
« on: April 26, 2023, 09:39:30 PM »
All -- I recently got hurt and broke my arm. Not going to be a big deal, it will heal soon. But, As one of your supporters and parts suppliers I am falling behind on your orders. It is hard to machine and assemble in a cast. I will get 100% in a month.. I am burning the midnight oil where possible and still turning wrenches. Thanks to those who have been understanding or that have personally reached out for nothing other than to say get well. This forum and FE community is special.
