FE Technical Forum / Re: Has anyone used an RPM intake on a Mustang with the stock GT air cleaner?

Not a RPM Performer intake installation, but this is the 390 in my '68 fastback equipped with Edelbrock Streetmaster (painted blue w/logos removed). '68 chrome GT air cleaner lid at 17.5" diameter. The air cleaner body is not from a '68 GT because it does not have the vacuum-actuated valve bracket on the driver's side, but it is the same size as a '68 GT air cleaner. Carburetor stud is 1.75" tall from carburetor body. .25" phenolic spacer. The export tower brace is a Ford parts-counter original that I purchased in 1970. Stock motor mounts. Everything fits as it should. Never mind the substitute Holley 4160 carb and funky gas line...I know better.

Plus, the Mustang now has an updated ignition system. Another plus is the faint gear whirling noise at idle with the clutch out, that could be heard in the cabin is gone.

Any problems here? Some dark speckles?
