Building a 445 and the owner wants to retain the S code air cleaner with an RPM intake, 68 Mustang.  I have Jay's measurements but wondering if it's been done.

Game plan is to see how much room there is with the current PI and adjust.  Stock mounts, stock location, Holley.  Likely should have a 1/4 phenolic under but TBD.

Not a RPM Performer intake installation, but this is the 390 in my '68 fastback equipped with Edelbrock Streetmaster (painted blue w/logos removed). '68 chrome GT air cleaner lid at 17.5" diameter. The air cleaner body is not from a '68 GT because it does not have the vacuum-actuated valve bracket on the driver's side, but it is the same size as a '68 GT air cleaner. Carburetor stud is 1.75" tall from carburetor body. .25" phenolic spacer.  The export tower brace is a Ford parts-counter original that I purchased in 1970. Stock motor mounts. Everything fits as it should. Never mind the substitute Holley 4160 carb and funky gas line...I know better.

Thanks Clark, the owner mocked it up and we think we have clearance.  Using Jay's book we both verified about 3/8 setback with the RPM and he showed plenty of room for setback.

Hopefully vertical and angle works, I have cut BT intakes for shakers, but you can't take a lot off due to linkage interference, haven't done an RPM
