FE Technical Forum / rocker set up for a 428cj
« on: May 19, 2018, 02:28:30 PM »
my question is,do i need the comp cams HD roller rockers with the end stands that attach to the head bolts?is that over kill?would i loose power going to a stock type rocker set up the shops on here sell.has there been proven HP gains with them?

my combo is engine is a 428 mostly stock with 10.6 comp, and a comp hyd roller cam with .556 lift, and 230 236 duration at .050,and performer rpm intake.heads are stock cobra jet.car is 68 mustang that is street driven and runs really good.not sure what springs on but shop said they are right for it.it has run to 6000 but cam is done by 5800.i would like to put stock valve covers back on it,but they wont clear the rocker end stands.only the tall cobra style ones that take 3 hours to change plugs.

FE Technical Forum / 427 hi riser intake fix
« on: December 27, 2014, 08:06:29 PM »
i have a previous post about the C4AE-F intake but thought it would be better to start a new one.the intake i have has been milled to remove the 5 degree angle of the carb pads.my question is,should i mill some spacers to replicate the original 5 degrees on the manifold configuration or should i just use it with some 1 inch spacers.i plan to use this in a t-bolt clone.so i dont think the carbs would be level without the 5 degree angle.here is a couple of pictures.

GOOD NEWS I GUESS.i looked the block over really close and found the block DOES have  2 sleeves, one in #3 and one in #6,so it makes sense now.i also have this listed for sale here for $4200.dan.
would like to get opinions on this 427 short block i have.we didnt remove pistons to do this.so the mid is as far down as the piston can go 3.78 stroke.
