Lost a good FE guy
« on: April 21, 2021, 01:40:42 PM »
Bret Kepner just sent me this "I just wanted to make sure you knew about Sol Stewart's passing on Sunday, April 18, 2021."

I am saddened. He was a wealth of information on early days racing in the southeast amd seemed like a great fellow that i unfortunately never met.

He was the driving force of the "Old Drag Races Reunion" in Florida and a hell of a nice guy.
RIP my friend.

Sorry to hear about that, Sol was a stand up guy.  I only spoke with him a couple times, but he was a true FE guy and very knowledgeable.

Several years ago Sol was the driving force behind the old drag racers reunion .I met him probably 15 years ago he was a stand up guy and ford man .His wife was also a racer she was a school teacher .I believe she had a fairlane wagon with 427 power .Ann was her name she has been sickly as well I believe she is still alive though .The ODRR has a yearly meeting in Dothan Ala. A car show banquet and racing at cottonwood drag way.Lots of fun and good racing it is sept. 24-25.Sol will be missed he and his wife did so much for all the racers from Ala.Ga. and Fl.Sol would tell me how they all ran 390 cast cranks in their 427s instead of the forged steel ones for a weight reduction.Yes he will be missed .Doug

Sad to hear. I would always read anything he posted in the old forum. A great wealth of knowledge.
