I'm not an alarmist, or conspiracy believer as such, but there is way too much information on this thread for my comfort.  What guns I do or do not own is not something to be discussed on a public forum.  There are a few things that need to be kept private in my opinion, and weapon ownership is near the top of the list.  JMO, but the times we live in today are not safe from scrutiny behind the veil of a computer screen or phone cloud.  Joe-JDC

I was thinking the same thing.....not to hard for folks to hack, or find info....but then again, if you carry a smart phone, "they" already know that and much much more.  Privacy is a thing of the past today.  I can go into detail but social media giants, Apple, Amazon, you enter your phone number or info and they can instantly correlate to what every IP address you are on, and they know what you looked at on your work PC, send ads to your phone etc. Believe it or not, we even did a test and 3/5 times we stated "BUY THIS" it popped up in adds even though mic access was off. Can call it conspiracy theory, yada yada, but it is fact.

With that,
My favorite day in day out was a S & W 642 w/Crimson. Carried that gun anywhere and everywhere. Amazingly accurate and concealable. Sadly it was stolen one night. Been meaning to replace it but still mad about the deal.  Rifle it depends a lot on the task at hand and distance. .270 being my preferred round weather it is standard Winchester or Magnum.

I think I’m becoming a bit of a conspiracy theorist. I just figure everything I do is already public, I’m already on a “list” somewhere. The world we live in is very corrupt. Guns and cars keep me sane, well kinda. Be safe.

This was intended to be a non-political thread.  Way to go goofballs.

I am surprised Jay let it get this far.  Nothing political about my opinion, just don't want anyone knowing what weapons I may or may not have.  Some things are best kept to oneself.  Joe-JDC

I've actually got no problem with this thread, have only had to delete one message with political overtones (although I didn't see Alan's before he removed it).   Regardless, let's keep it about guns, and not the politics surrounding them.

And I'll agree that a lot of car guys are also gun guys; I suppose it all has to do with fascination with mechanical contrivances.  Nothing wrong with that, as far as I'm concerned...

I am a long gun guy and not a Military style firearms dude..

My Fav is Remington 40X with a Unertl 10x scope. It is a scourge to those western burrowing creatures

Also my Ruger heavy barrel 77 in .220 Swift. High velocity is a wonderful thing..

This is one of my favorites ever since I saw it, this is displayed at the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco you can pick it up and disassemble it into 4 pieces.

I like target rifles and ARs.

My .223 target gun shoots pretty well.  5 shot groups at 100 yards:

Good shooting, Earl.

We had a custom bench rifle, with a Sinclair stock, 2oz trigger, and a Hart barrel in .222 Rem Mag.   At 100 yards, it would shoot a 5 shot group in a .290" hole.   It was one of those rifles where the rifle's capability was better than the shooter's capability.

I had a really nice .308" bench rest rifle based on a Mauser action.  My dad let a guy borrow it and that guy set the rifle off with a cleaning rod in the barrel.  Blew the barrel off of it.  He replaced it, but instead of a nice, fat, fluted barrel, he put a cheapie on it and it never shot the same again.
