Edelbrock: California here I go?

I hope the move is just to get out of Commiefornia and manufacture in a relatively sane state.

More above. No, they are gone for good and the machinery is to be auctioned off. So sad!

Say fellas, maybe we should all consider buying up a few intakes or head sets before they are all gone. I am thinking about it primarily for intakes (351W, sorry, no more FE stuff here anymore) and maybe future engine changes.

Any thoughts on these or FE parts?

This is bad. It's going to leave a void in affordable cylinder heads and all the great intakes they produced. This really sucks.  :(
I can barely stay on that OC register link before bombarded with ads but was able to see they reported some of the facility will be moved to San Jacinto.
So, maybe not the complete end of Edelbrock?  ???

That is an inaccurate statement.  Please verify stuff before posting things like that.  Machining and office operations are being consolidated with those of the Comp Performance Group in the lower cost, center of the country.  Better location for distribution and labor costs.  California should be happy - all those unemployed factory workers will have a reduced carbon footprint.

LOL!  At the risk of getting political, it's the magic formula where you increase taxes and watch as your tax revenue drops.  Throw in a healthy dose of regulation to make it work faster  ::)

The troubling part is that they (Californians) are moving to Texas in droves and changing the demographics as well as the cost of living, property taxes, and ......hmm politics.  Sorry Jay, just speaking the truth.  Joe-JDC

Sorry, but that article and 3 others I saw before posting it said nada about a relocation at all. Glad to hear your news but nowhere did it appear, as I just checked, with financial newsites or California media. They or Edel-B are to blame for any misinformation. Any media news about Comp, a relocation or contiuned operations can and should be posted here.

It is my understanding that since Edelbrock was absorbed by a business comglomarate, that a number of products that do not sell in sufficient numbers, like many of the "NHRA"  head castings, and less mainstream intakes have been dropped.Not sure how well most FE offerings are moving off the shelves.

     Yes, many part numbers have been discontinued in the last year or so, and availability of many more have been on back-order, myself not knowing when or if they will be revived?     ???

     I think, next years catalog is going to be of a lot fewer pages!     :o

    The foundry in San Jacinto will remain but the entire Torrance facility has been sold . They are supposed to be "out" by March ( probably the end of March). This should not be a surprise to anyone familiar to the "corporate world". JE did the same thing moving from CA to OH. Erson from CA to NV to KY. and others. The workers suffer and corporate profits rise because of lower overhead. Business goes in the toilet and sells to "someone else". Look at Mr Gasket.

If you notice, there's a common thread among those companies you listed....they are all moving OUT of California. 'Nuff said.  :-X

  Funny there are huge buildings going up all over , but out of LA county because property value ( for homes) is on the rise. Some ( like the current owners of Edelbrock) are "cashing in" by reducing property value from 15-20 million to 1-2 million on property they already own in another state. That is exactly what JE did years ago.
