street smart converters
« on: January 17, 2021, 08:18:09 PM »
Have any of you guys had dealings with Street smart transmissions/converters out of Tennessee? My brother is thinking of using them for a converter build. I'm a little worried as they only recommended a 4000 stall for his 351C 4v motor. I was thinking more like 5000 to 5500 as this is a race only car with 4.30 rear gears. I'm just curious if anyone has input on them, good, bad or just ok. I tried to steer him towards Neal Chance, ATI or Dynamic but he stumbled on this guy and is pretty firm in using him. Thanks for your input. Jim

That's way low, almost a "street" converter for a 351C.  My slow door car with 450 HP uses a 4600 stall.  I use Michael at Freakshow Performance here in Abilene Tx.  Good guy with good parts.
